My fitness journey began when I was 17 and decided to pursue an Army ROTC scholarship. For four years as a Cadet in college and another six as a Cavalry officer, my physical fitness reflected my discipline, ability to meet and exceed the standards I held my soldiers to, and had implications for my career. Since retiring from service in 2020, fitness has remained a core value. Now, after gaining valuable experience in a commercial gym, I want to bring my coaching experience and passion for exercise to the people in my community.
What you will get when you work with me is a no-nonsense, realistic approach to fitness. We're going to lift weights, with good form and full range of motion, through a progressive program based on current, peer-reviewed exercise science to achieve your fitness goals. You will also get honest and direct coaching on things such as how to track workouts, exercise technique, and programming guidelines, so that you actually learn instead of simply being put through the motions. I seek to dispel the many myths that plague both beginner and advanced lifters. Finally, I will be professional, courteous, and respectful through it all.
